Before attending Global Awakening Brazil’s WAVE Conference, Alexandre Kennedy had been bound to cigarettes for over 15 years, smoking a full pack a day - 20 cigarettes, every single day.

He had tried everything to quit - medications, treatments, different methods, but nothing worked. He couldn’t go even one day without smoking.

But that changed when Jesus encountered him.

Since WAVE, Alexandre has gone a whole month without touching a single cigarette, not one. And what’s even more incredible, he hasn’t experienced any withdrawal symptoms at all. No headaches, no tremors, no anxiety like before, nothing.

Alexandre shares his powerful testimony below

The WAVE was not just a conference — it was a spiritual milestone. It was there that I experienced a true awakening, a wave of revival that not only touched me but completely transformed my spiritual reality.

At the time of the event, I shared that I had gone 24 hours without smoking. Today, to the glory of God, it has now been about 19 days (now 26 days at the time of this email) completely free from the addiction to cigarettes. I smoked for more than 15 years—about a pack a day, which is 20 cigarettes.

I had already tried many different methods—medications, treatments—and until then I couldn’t even go one day without smoking. But after the WAVE, it’s been 20 days without touching a single cigarette. Absolutely none.

I have not felt any withdrawal symptoms at all. None. No headaches, no tremors, no anxiety like I used to have.

All I feel is a desire to talk about Jesus—how good He is, how much He loves us, and that He is still alive, saving, healing, and delivering.

This is not merely willpower, but a genuine deliverance brought about by the Holy Spirit — a clear evidence that “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

Since then, I can say with conviction: I no longer just live in Christ, but I live for Christ. My life has gained purpose, direction, and a renewed passion for His presence.

I was baptized in water at the age of twelve, but over time I drifted away from essential practices of the faith. For some years, I had not been partaking in the Lord’s Supper. However, after the powerful work of the Holy Spirit through WAVE, I had the honor of participating in Communion again — and it was a beautiful, deep, and genuine moment, marked by the spiritual authority of God restoring in me what had been dormant.

Prophetic Word Unlocks Doors

Another moment that deeply marked my journey was when God used missionary Chaffin to give me a prophetic word in the professional area.

Chaffin played a transformative role in bringing the Word of the Lord, revealed in the Spirit, over my life! What God spoke through Chaffin about real estate business was impactful — God has already given the vision and the partners. The Lord truly watches over His word to fulfill it!

At that moment, I was overwhelmed with emotion.

I received it, believed it, and embraced that word — even though, rationally, I did not understand how it would come to pass, since I had never worked in the area mentioned.

But God, in His faithfulness, began to reveal the paths.

The next day, during the ministry time and inspired by the message you shared, a name was born in my heart: LANÇA — the spear of divine authority. Even so, I still did not fully understand the means.

Then, in a supernatural way, just hours before Chaffin contacted me asking about the possibility of sharing my testimony, the Lord had already given me the project, the means, and even the partners. It was as if I saw, before my eyes, the materialization of a word released in the Spirit.

Ignited to Serve

What began in that moment continues to echo daily within me. God reignited something that, for a time, had been dormant. There has always been a strong social calling in my heart — a genuine desire to serve, help, and reach lives. I also have the honor of presiding over the Associação Corrente do Bem, which was born with this very purpose: to impact lives through concrete actions.

However, I recognize that there was a time when this movement slowed down. But after what God did in me through WAVE, and also through your lives, Mark and Chaffin, everything returned with even greater intensity. Today, this calling pulses strongly within me again, accompanied by a burning desire to win souls for the Kingdom of God.

In this new season, the Lord has been leading me to support and develop initiatives that unite faith and action.

Among the initiatives are:

• The project “Filhos do Mar,” which uses surfing as a tool for social transformation, reaching children and youth, teaching values, discipline, and awakening hope through contact with the ocean and life principles

• “Artes do Quarteirão,” which promotes cultural expression, creativity, and inclusion, valuing local talents and creating development opportunities within communities

•  

  The distribution of goat milk yogurt, an initiative aimed at socially vulnerable communities, providing quality food, care, and dignity to families in need.

Each of these initiatives carries more than assistance — it carries love, presence, and the desire to manifest the Kingdom of God in a practical and transformative way.

For all these reasons, I make myself fully available to share my testimony. I will do so boldly and responsibly, so that many other lives may be touched by the same power that reached me. I want to testify to how this wave of revival from WAVE has been impacting people, cities, states, and nations.

I firmly believe we are living in a prophetic time. And the message burning in my heart is clear: the devil has no power or authority over this generation — it belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ!

I have been experiencing a true spiritual renewal. I have returned to regular fellowship, I have been partaking in Holy Communion after nearly 20 years away from that sacred moment, and I can affirm with theological and spiritual conviction that there has indeed been a real revival in my life.

A revival that is not merely emotional, but one that is expressed through transformed character, a hunger for the Word, and commitment to the Kingdom.
